My name is Kelly Thigpen and I am the 4th/5th grade combo teacher. In December 2018, I moved to North Carolina from Georgia. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Reinhardt University. I recently got married to my husband, Gordon, who is a graduate assistant on the football team at Lenoir-Rhyne University. I am a huge sports fan, and love the Georgia Bulldogs! (Go dawgs!) Finally, I am very family oriented! I have a younger brother with Fragile X Syndrome, which is on the Autism spectrum. He has helped shaped me into who I am today.
I am so honored to be working at North Newton. I am blessed by my students each and every day. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions.
