Hello! I am Allison Patton and I teach first grade at North Newton Elementary School. It is my pleasure to work with precious first grade students every day!
Ever since I was in first grade I knew that I wanted to be a teacher because my first grade teacher, Mrs. McGee, inspired me and gave me a love of learning. From that moment on, I was very focused on becoming the best teacher I could be. After graduating Newton-Conover High School, I went to Appalachian State University to earn a degree in Elementary Education. After teaching a few years, I decided to earn my master's degree from Gardner-Webb University. My career began at Thornton Elementary in first grade. Over the years I have taught first, second, and third grade. Each year was an adventure and my students truly taught me as much, if not more, than I taught them.
Family is so important to me. I am married to Kyle Patton and together we have three beautiful children: Makenzie, Nolan, and Beau. Working with my students over the years has made me a better parent and loving my children has made me a better teacher!
This school year will be an exciting adventure. North Newton Elementary has adopted a global focus and in first grade we will be specifically focusing on the continent of Africa. It is my goal to daily bring the events and places from our country, continent, and world into the classroom for my students to see, hear, and learn about. In return, we will become a more accepting and knowledgeable group of people.
